Volkswagen Passat range is seriously accomplished, but the 1.6 TDI Bluemotion is second to none in the Passat range
Volkswagen has introduced several elegant models and engines but they have developed the Passat as an efficiency hero and it is more accomplished than ever and it is cheaper, practical and efficient option.
Volkswagen Passat TDI Bluemotion
Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion is a model that is developed for extra fuel economies and ultra-low emissions. It gets the same Passat 1.6-litre TDi engine as used in the standard version and it is badged as a BlueMotion tech and returns the same power as in the standard version.
However the BlueMotion maybe refer to the six speed manual gearbox with longer gear ratios and customised aerodynamic bumpers and styling tweaks. It has low-resistance tyres to keep it even more efficient.
Engine performance
The BlueMotion engine as expressed is an ultra-efficient engine with carbon emissions of even under 100g/km. it emits only 95g/km and for the company car buyers, they have to pay only £149 every month. But again, in the company car buyers’ favourite list, Ford Mondeo and Skoda Superb Green line are undercutting the tax rates with £128 and £141 respectively.
The Superb also has satellite navigation system as a standard. The Passat BlueMotion edition is cheaper to buy privately and the long gearing means that you will spend lot more time rowing through the gears.
Respectable Performance
All new Passat BlueMotion has a respectable performance and there is more than normal engine noise with vibrations coming from engine compartment all the way through steering wheel if you try to push it hard. The 2.0-litre TDI engine is far good in this area.
Although the Bluemotion treatment keeps it quiet on the road but when fully loaded.
