With a GT Coupe Similar to Mazda MX-5 size, Vauxhall Feels Proud at Geneva
Vauxhall GT uses a 1.0-litre Vauxhall engine but it is muscular enough when it comes to the displacement of only 1000cm3because it cranks 144bhp of power.
It is not a common engine actually, it boasts a turbocharger to make you feel happy behind the wheel and it drives the rear wheels.
When it will arrive
The Vauxhall is showing its GT concept at the Geneva Motor Show however, it has been leaked just ahead of its global debut at Geneva Motor Show.
What is it?
It is a two seats based coupe concept which has been described by the Vauxhall a template for future sports cars by the automaker. The all new GT concept car is very similar to the size and the body shapes of the Mazda MX-5, however, it boasts an ultra-modern body art and flowing lines around the car.
In other words, one can say it a mechanical sibling of the MX-5. Vauxhall has not given it door handles and outer side mirrors but it still employs a classical long bonnet and short boot. It has similar but most modern mechanical components than any other offering.
Vauxhall Engines
Vauxhall has introduced the GT coupe with smallest engine available, but don’t worry about the power delivery because it has received a turbo treatment to boost the power delivery with 144bhp.
All this power comes from the 3-cylinder engine that sips petrol to ignite. It is further equipped with a six-speed sequential gearbox which will be controlled by a paddle shifter.
What Vauxhall said?
Vauxhall design chief Mark Adams has led the project and he claims that the GT concept pays homage to Vauxhall VXR and the Opel experimental GT from mid-1960s.
Both of those models had a great influence on the design of the car of that era.
